Beginning in December 1943, there were storehouses here for belongings
looted from deportees to Auschwitz: Jews brought for extermination
in the gas chambers and prisoners registered in the camp. Property
confiscated from the Jews was sorted and shipped into the depths
of Germany. During the liquidation of the camp in January 1945,
the SS set the barracks on fire in order to eliminate evidence
of their crimes.
