Present state of Sector BIIg. There were storehouses here for belongings looted from deportees to Auschwitz. The Germans, withdrawing under pressure from the Red Army, set the barracks on fire in January 1945.

Beginning in December 1943, there were storehouses here for belongings looted from deportees to Auschwitz: Jews brought for extermination in the gas chambers and prisoners registered in the camp. Property confiscated from the Jews was sorted and shipped into the depths of Germany. During the liquidation of the camp in January 1945, the SS set the barracks on fire in order to eliminate evidence of their crimes.

Some of the few metal objects, personal effects of the people murdered in Auschwitz, that were saved from the fire.
