Prof. Dr. Carl Clauberg, a German gynecologist, carried out criminal
sterilization
experiments in this block from April 1943 through May 1944. Several hundred
Jewish women used in these experiments were quartered permanently
in two upstairs rooms. Some of them died during the experiments
and some were put to death so that autopsies could be performed
on them. Those who survived were left with permanent injuries.
Other SS physicians also conducted experiments on women prisoners
in this block.
The block is not available to visitors.
