Warehouses for storing property looted from deportees to Auschwitz - Jews transported to destruction in the gas chambers and prisoners registered in the camp - were located here from December 1943. The property confiscated from the Jews was sorted and subsequently shipped into the depths of Germany. During the liquidation of the camp in January 1945, the SS set fire to the barracks in an attempt to remove evidence of their crimes.

The barracks where property stolen from the victims of Auschwitz was sorted. SS photograph, 1944.
