Sector BIIc

Sector BII c. Allied aerial reconnaissance photograph, 1944.

There was a holding camp (Durchgangslager) here, mostly for Jewish women from Hungary who had been selected by the SS on the ramp as strong and capable of working, from May to November, 1944. These women, never registered in the camp records, were subsequently shipped to concentration camps in the depths of Germany. In October 1944, Jewish women from the liquidated Camp BIII were also placed here.
