A camp for Jewish families (Familienlager Theresienstadt) deported from the ghetto in Terezin, near Prague, was located here from September 1943 until July 1944. After the Jews from Theresienstadt were murdered in the gas chambers, Polish women arrested during the Warsaw Uprising were brought here from the holding camp in Pruszków. Women prisoners capable of working were brought here from Camp BIb after the liquidation of that camp.
